Embrace the Remote Work Lifestyle in Spain with the New Nomad Visa!

Are you among the growing tribe of remote workers? Have you ever fantasized about merging work and life against the captivating backdrop of Spain? Your dreams are now within reach more than ever before!

Starting from December 2022, a groundbreaking visa category has been officially introduced, catering to non-EU residents embracing remote work. Unveiling the “Nomad Visa,” an integral part of Spain’s visionary Startup Act, this initiative aspires to position the nation as a frontrunner in the unfolding digital epoch. Picture yourself residing in Spain while working for global entities—a reality tailored for digital nomads. Moreover, flourishing coastal gems like Javea and Denia, as well as bustling urban hubs such as Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia, have already embraced numerous remote professionals and are poised to welcome even more following the implementation of this legislation.

Parallel Trends Across Europe
Spain isn’t alone in this endeavour across Europe. Similar enticing visas have been rolled out in Italy and Greece, attracting remote talents worldwide, keen on nurturing the Mediterranean reverie without relinquishing their existing careers. Spain’s recent enactment represents the primary stride towards a more universally inclusive approach to living and labouring.

Eligibility Unveiled
Curious about the Nomad Visa and whether it aligns with your aspirations? Here are the key requisites you should consider:

Prospective applicants should hail from outside the European Economic Area. Additionally, engagement with non-EU corporations or a cap of 20% of earnings from Spanish enterprises as an independent contractor is required. Moreover, a minimum engagement period of 3 months with your clientele or employer is essential. Demonstrating self-sufficiency through a minimum income of €28,000 (equivalent to 200% of Spain’s monthly minimum wage) is also crucial. Furthermore, the compulsory provision of private health insurance is mandatory. Notably, the initial visa validity spans 12 months, with the option of renewal for up to 5 years.

Elevate your remote work break by unlocking the doors to Spain’s captivating vistas and the allure of the Nomad Visa.
