5 Star Beaches and so much more...

With sunshine over 320 days every year and mild winters, the Costa Blanca crown jewel, Javea, has been able to draw thousands of holiday makers and property buyers from around the world. Situated in the Costa Blanca North, Javea is the coastal property seeker’s paradise; the blue Mediterranean Sea water make for a wonderful swimming treat before lying in the sun enjoying the healthy dose of sunshine on gorgeous sandy beaches. It’s the place to enjoy a saffron-rich lunch with seafood paella as you take some time to wander across the characteristic gothic whitewashed iconic buildings and winding cobbled streets. Discovered by Northern European affluent expatriates over four decades ago, the desire to retire in the world’s healthiest place where the sun is ever shining remains a draw.

Javea’s flora and fauna make for one unforgettable adventure as you explore the fabulous views with the sea on one side, the town on the other and the unforgettable elephant of Montgo Mountain watching over you. Montgo is arguably one of the most remarkable mountains you’ll ever see, spread between Javea and Denia. It juts from the ground in it’s seemingly desire to hug the sky and touch the sea. At 735 metres and the Montgo Natural Park focal point, it’s also the holy grail of cyclists, hikers and walkers who want to experience the holistic healthy life of Javea of great food, relaxing sunshine, amazing sunsets and sunrises. Picturesque rock formations alter their colour as the day starts changing in the evening. The sights and paths will keep you healthy as long as possible as the Javean climate has been rated by the World Health Organisation as one of the world’s healthiest. With the famous Balearic Island of Ibiza observable yonder in clear days, Javea serves everything retiree’s dream while fulfilling the desire of every person seeking to live on a paradise on earth.

In the centre of town the covered indoor market sells all sorts of fabulous fresh local produce: fruit, vegetables, meat and fresh fish are brought up from the port daily. The market is located in the Plaza Celestino Pons and is open from Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 14.00 and then 17.00 to 21.00 and on Saturday mornings from 08.00 to 14.00 There is also an outdoor market held every Thursday on the Plaza de la Constitution.

History and Culture...

Javea has been inhabited since prehistoric times as cave dwellers lived in Montgo 30,000 years ago before subsequent entries of Romans, Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthagians, Visigoths, Moors and Germanic people, among others. Actually, the Sant Marti monastery was founded by Visigoth Christian monks around 6th A.D., a monastery famous as the place where Hermeneglid, a Visigoth King’s son made his last stand against his father’s army after he refused to denounce his marriage to a beautiful Christian girl he’d fallen in love with.

The resilience of the property around Javea against the Spanish property market downturn is legendary. In 2012’s second quarter, the property prices around Javea actually went up while in other markets the trend was downwards. This hasn’t changed ever since. According to a late 2015 report, property prices in the Javea municipality within the Costa Blanca North area had seen an increase of over 11 percent in one year. This made it the leading area in Spanish coastal municipalities with property cost increases in one year. As a result, the town has become a highly sought after Costa Blanca location considering its ever rising high-class and luxury lifestyle with enjoyable and breathtaking backdrop of the Montgo and Marina Alta mountains, splendid coves and appetizing beaches.

With the property market doing great in the last quarter of 2016, Javea property horizon is expected to get even better. Residential developments are taking shape finished and built with the highest quality building materials, featuring front and back private gardens with dining and leisure areas plus great cafes, restaurants and banks.
